I created this fireball messing around with masked materials in UE5. Some of the fire materials are modified versions of a material made by a fellow artist Sven! You can find his amazing work here: https://www.artstation.com/voltaroth
The focus with this effect for me was making the lines and shapes as clear as possible, while still keeping the chaotic nature of fire in tact. Particle work and additional material work was done myself, along with Blueprint implementation and screen shake.
